Rainy day on Lake Como, what shall we do?
FAQ (frequently asked questions) on a rainy day on Lake Como: WHAT SHALL WE DO?
A shopping tour is one of the things that you can do on a rainy day on Lake Como.
Como - Bellagio - Menaggio - Cernobbio (just to name a few) offer plenty of shops from high-end boutiques like Tessabit, to smaller but not less appealing local and Italian brand shops, to craft shops.
While you are staying in the Como area, you will have plenty of time to visit these shops during your daily strolls.
A rainy day is the perfect opportunity to leave Lake Como for a good reason : MORE SHOPPING! Don’t miss the chance to go for a shopping tour to MILAN - Italy’s fashion capital, only 50 minutes form Como, where the dream of every shopaholic comes true. Trust me, shopping is the best therapy for gray days!
We start the Milan day tour strolling around the most exclusive and luxurious shopping streets in the world - Via Monte Napoleone, followed by Via Della Spiga. These elegant streets boast beautiful old buildings and I am sure you’ll spend half the time shopping and the other half photographing them. Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is one of the busiest and most famous shopping streets in Milan, it is full of high street brand shops and also cafes.
You can literally find whatever you like in Milan and depending on what you are looking for, we will drive you to the best part of the city in order to find what you most desire.
If you need a rest from shopping there is no better place than Milan for an APERITIVO, a sociable pre-dinner drink! There is an endless list of places to go for an Aperitif in Milan. We went to “The VIU Terrace” on the rooftop of the ‘Bleisure’ 5* Hotel - The VIU, with 360° views of the city skyline and great cocktails.
After a day spent shopping in Milan, if you are not still 100% satisfied (very unlikely but possible) you have two other options :
Continue shopping - on the way back to Lake Como stop at FoxTown Factory Stores Outlet, the temple of fashion where there are 160 stores of the most prestigious brands, with clothes shoes and bags from previous seasons at discounted price from 30% to 70% .
Continue having fun in the city and enjoy ‘ Milano by night’ . The NAVIGLI district would be our first choice for the best area of Milan to be at the end of a day. Many cafes alongside the canals. Lots of resturants to choose from. Great people watching. Outdoor seating and lots of music.
This shopping tour of course can be done every day of the year and even on a sunny day you won’t be disappointed.
